Covid Compliant Cleaning
Living our lives as safe and as normal as possible during pandemic times is often a challenge, this is why we want to help you overcome at least a part of the burden with our COVID-19 compliant cleaning in Yuma.
But before, let’s look into what the CDC recommends for home cleaning during COVID-19.
What are the CDC guidelines for cleaning home during COVID-19?
The general CDC guidelines include:
To wear disposable gloves to clean and disinfect and discard after use or use reusable gloves that are dedicated only for cleaning and disinfecting;
First clean surfaces using soap and water, then use disinfectant;
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds;
If someone in your family is sick, keep a separate bedroom and bathroom for the person who is sick (whenever possible) and allow separate times/ room for meals1.
What is the difference between 'cleaning' and 'disinfecting' for COVID-19?
Let’s get things one at a time. You cannot disinfect without first cleaning. So, if until the pandemic most of us would clean our homes, for regular upkeep or more thorough cleaning like spring cleaning, or move-in/ move-out cleaning, only a few used the next step that is disinfection. This usually happens when there are concerns about the health of the family, when someone is chronically ill or there is a risk of illness, sometimes around newborns for example.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, most of us, if not all of us, include disinfection as a further step in the cleaning of our homes.
For COVID-19 compliant cleaning in Yuma, we use additional cleaning products, disinfectants usually, that have the role to kill viruses, bacteria, mold, or other biological pollutants.
Sparkly Clean Yuma offers COVID-19 cleaning services.
COVID-19 cleaning and disinfection is recommended to be done in your home in one of these two situations: as prevention for your family and after a home has been impacted by a coronavirus, then it should be cleaned as promptly as possible.
We offer COVID-19 compliant cleaning services in Yuma and our sanitizing process has two phases as recommended by the CDC’s guidelines
Phase one is a deep cleaning where we include sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming, removing all visible dust and dirt from flat surfaces and additionally high touch areas like door knobs and handles, light switches, taps and frequently used horizontal flat surfaces. After the area is clean, sanitization begins, which is phase two.
Phase two is done depending on the specific area at the location, and the concern of the client regarding this needed service.
2.1. If you require our service as a prevention for your family, with no recent exposures to COVID-19, phase two is done as light sterilization with standard cleaning products.
2.2. If, however, you need us after your home has been impacted by a coronavirus, we’ll be performing an electrostatic disinfection spray, or fogging. This disinfection spray is EPA approved as safe to use around food and daily use objects, while still killing 99.9999% of germs and viruses including coronavirus.
After the full service is complete, the space will be safe to return to as soon as 10-15 minutes.
This disinfection service generally takes about one hour per every 1,000sqf of space but total treatment time will vary depending on the space and its characteristics.
